Dr. Dana Barchak Named Assistant Principal at SFES

Schilling Farms Elementary Families - 
 
I am excited to announce that Dr. Dana Barchak has been named the new assistant principal of Schilling Farms Elementary School. Dr. Barchak succeeds Mrs. Toni Flynn, who was recently appointed principal of Crosswind Elementary School. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Barchak to the SFES family as she begins this new leadership role.

Dr. Barchak brings more than 25 years of educational experience to her new role as assistant principal at Schilling Farms Elementary School. She has served students and families in Collierville Schools since 2010 and is currently a K–5 interventionist at Collierville Elementary School.  
  
Throughout her career in Collierville, Dr. Barchak has held a variety of instructional roles, including fifth-grade math teacher, kindergarten teacher, second-grade teacher, third-grade math and science teacher, and interventionist. In her current position, she leads student intervention efforts, analyzes academic data, coordinates RTI processes, supports schoolwide testing initiatives, and works closely with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed. Before joining Collierville Schools, she taught in South Dakota and Florida and also served as an adjunct instructor at Pensacola Junior College. 
  
Dr. Barchak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from South Dakota State University. She recently completed doctoral studies in Educational Psychology and Research at the University of Memphis, where her dissertation focused on school belonging and student well-being. Her combination of classroom experience, instructional expertise, and commitment to student success will make her a valuable addition to the Schilling Farms Elementary family.
  
Dr. Barchak and her husband, Ed, have been married for 30 years. A U.S. Air Force family, they have called Collierville home since 2004. They have two daughters: Anna, 23, who is studying at the University of Memphis, and Sara, 20, who attends the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
