About Mrs. Greer

Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Thank you so much for sharing your children with me this year!  It is my pleasure to be their science and social studies teacher.  I appreciate your support, and I look forward to partnering with you to become your child's cheerleaders as they learn and grow. 

I live in Collierville with my husband and two sons.  My oldest son just graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, and my youngest is a sophomore at the University of Memphis.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

In 1993, I earned my degree in elementary education at Missouri State University in Springfield.  I have experience teaching children in every grade level from preschool up through eighth grade.  I am currently certified to teach grades 1-8. I have been teaching children at Sycamore Elementary in Collierville for the past 11 years, and I am so excited and blessed to be a part of our new family at Schilling Farms Elementary!

Remember to bring your valentine cards for each friend in our class this Thursday, February 14 along with a valentine bag to collect them.  Make sure you write your name in large letters on the front of the bag so that our friends will be able to deliver your valentines.  It is fine to include treats or candy with the cards if you choose.  Happy Valentine's Day! 
Homework for Monday 1/29/19:
Complete Moon Journal & "The Moon" comprehension practice sheet.  Bring both sheets to school on Tuesday!
After our Grandparents' Breakfast on Friday morning, we will celebrate the 100th Day of School with a 100th Day Parade!  Students may dress as though they are 100 years old, make a t-shirt or poster that represents 100 to wear or carry in the parade, or come up with their own create idea that shows the number 100.  We are looking forward to this fun event with our grandparents!

Tuesday, January 15 for our Class Picture Day!
Happy New Year!  I am so excited about seeing our little Stallions' smiling faces next week as we celebrate 2019 and set some goals for ourselves in the new year.  I hope everyone had an amazing break, and I will see you on Monday morning, January 7.
If you forgot your empty paper towel roll last week, we still need about 10 more to have enough for all 3 classes.  Please bring an extra if you have one. Thanks so much!
Please bring an empty paper towel roll by Thursday of this week for a social studies project.  We will be making our own Cherokee Rainstick! If you have an extra one, bring it and receive 3 gold classroom coins!
Look for more information coming soon about our BIG CHILL winter party, Holidays Around the World, Grinch Day, and Polar Express Day coming soon! We have so many fun and educational activities planned for December!
Remember to wear RED, WHITE, and BLUE on Monday as we honor our veterans at our SFES Veterans Day Program!
